5 Strains to Help Cope with Winter Weather
Winter, the season everyone either loves or hates, has arrived. With this season comes shorter days and, of course, snowfall and other winter weather. Whether you love or hate winter, here in Pittsburgh it’s something we have to learn to cope with. No worries, you don’t have to do it alone! Here are 5 medical marijuana strains to help you cope with winter weather.
*Strains below may or may not be available on today’s menu, for more information see our location menus.
1. OG Kush
First on the list is OG Kush, and for good reason. Winter can often lead to the onset of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). SAD is a condition where people become depressed from spending so little time outside due to bad weather. However, other factors such as lack of sunlight and the cold also add to the severity of SAD. That’s where OG Kush comes in. This strain is known as one of the best to help relieve stress, anxiety and other symptoms of SAD, making it the perfect winter weather strain for those prone to Seasonal Affective Disorder.
2. Maui Wowie
Ever taste a fruit or drink and instantly remember a vacation you went on to a warm, exotic location? For that split second you’re taken out of your current setting and your imagination drops you into another. Medicating with Maui Wowie during the cold winter months will make you temporarily forget where you are. If you can’t leave the winter weather behind, might as well trick your taste buds into thinking you’re somewhere tropical in the sun, right?
3. Jack Frost
If you’re unable to imagine yourself being out of the winter weather, try to enjoy it. Jack Frost, as if the name didn’t give it away, is the winter weather strain . This is kind of a “if you can’t beat them, join them” approach. Jack Frost is a hybrid derived from strains grown in colder climates, making it the perfect complement to winter weather.
4. White Widow
Like Jack Frost, the name of this strain makes it the perfect winter strain. White Widow is most famous for its beautiful white buds that kind of resemble snowfall in the winter. Do you love the way snow looks, but hate the cold? What better way to cope with the season than by enjoying a strain that looks like what is falling to the ground without having to go outside.
5. Northern Lights
For those of us wanting to take a trip north to see the famous Northern Lights, but can’t for one reason or another, here’s a way to fake it till you make it. Stay inside and medicate with the strain Northern Lights, a strain with the same name and a similar beautiful experience to the real thing… minus the cold weather!
