Hanging Gardens was established in 2017 and was awarded a license to grow/process medical marijuana in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. They are based in Johnstown, PA and operate out of what was once a part of the largest steel mill in the country.

Hanging Gardens had the second highest scoring application across both rounds of the program, in no small part due to their commitment to community. Revitalizing the space to be an indoor and sterile grow facility more akin to a hospital than a greenhouse was no easy task. It took help from more than a few members of the Johnstown community and further bolstered their already strong relationships.
The question often gets asked why they entered the cannabis industry. The answer is simple: They didn’t.
Hanging Gardens entered the pharmaceutical industry to develop medicines which distill the natural benefits from the cannabis plant into forms that better interact with the endocannabinoid system and allow for effective repeatable results dose after dose.
“Creating medication that helps children consistently go to school, veterans sleep at night, and cancer patients eat is why we do this. Hanging Gardens is making cannabis medicine tomorrow’s medicine.”
