Frequently Asked Questions About Vaping

What is the issue with vaping and possible respiratory and pulmonary illnesses?
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has notified the public about a recent wave of respiratory and pulmonary cases potentially attributed to the use of e-cigarette products.

Do we know what is causing this?
The reasons are unknown at this time, and cases have been reported related to both e-cigarette nicotine devices and cannabis vape pens. The CDC and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are working closely with state health officials to gather information on products or substances used.

What happens to a person who becomes affected by this?
Please refer to the CDC website for the latest information. Additionally, you may also refer to the Department of Health website.

E-cigarettes and vape pens have been available for several years. What has changed?
That hasn’t been made clear. While vape technology has been available to consumers for approximately a decade, it is only in recent months that respiratory and pulmonary illnesses potentially linked to vaping have been reported.

How are your products tested?
The safety and well-being of our patients and customers is our top priority. Every product must pass third-party testing by an independent laboratory to ensure that they meet the state’s regulations for safety and purity.

Are there alternatives to vaping that I could try?
The CDC recommends that any person who is concerned about overall health dangers from vaping should refrain from utilizing e-cigarette devices. Concentrates and tinctures are among the many alternative means of dosing cannabis. Pennsylvania has determined which of these alternatives can be made available to consumers as part of the state’s legal cannabis program.

If I feel sick after vaping, what should I do?
You should report any circumstances of serious breathing problems and/or chest pain to your doctor.

Where can I obtain additional information?
The CDC and the FDA will continue to advise and alert the public as more information becomes available. The CDC statement can be found here. You should also refer to the state Department of Health website.

About Prime Wellness

In June 2017, Prime Wellness was one of the first 12 companies licensed to grow and process medical marijuana in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The “prime” family of medical marijuana products have been available at Solevo Wellness since late August 2018. Prime Wellness built a state-of-the-art 30,000-square-foot indoor facility in South Heidelberg Township, where the team focuses on producing quality products for Pennsylvania patients and caregivers. Backed by Acreage Holdings – its parent company – with one of the most diverse portfolios of cultivation, processing and dispensary operations in the United States – Prime Wellness has significant access to industry-wide knowledge, national best practices, and expertise.

We asked the Prime Wellness team about their core business values. Here’s what they had to say:

“Prime Grown” quality. Integrity. Respect for the community and everyone we serve. These are some of the fundamental values embraced by Prime Wellness. Above all, it’s about having a positive impact on people’s lives and knowing that so many will benefit from the plant’s therapeutic properties for many qualifying medical conditions – especially chronic pain – to help improve lives."

Prime Wellness' Specialty

Prime Wellness is laser focused on enabling access to mindfully crafted, “prime” products for patients and caregivers across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. We asked Prime Wellness to identify the “prime” product difference. They said:

"Our genetic library is based on almost a decade of breeding in large-scale environments. We have a vast selection of genetics with new, unique and exclusive strains, including hand-sourced landrace strains and IBL lines from at least three continents. While we offer many popular and well-known strains, we also focus on rare and novel cultivars with continuous utilization of selective breeding for research and development.” For all of our “prime” grown products, we:

  • Use only purified reverse osmosis water to cultivate our plants.

  • No heavy metals are used in cultivation.

  • Our products and facility are 100% Pesticide-Free!

  • All “prime” products are labeled with lab verified terpene and cannabinoid profiles."

Prime Wellness' Commitment to Quality

At Solevo Wellness, we’re accountable to our patients for providing informed and compassionate care and access to the highest quality medical marijuana products. As such, we choose to work with growers who share a similar passion for quality. Please see below for Prime Wellness’ thoughts about their pesticide-free facility and their “prime” quality-focused cultivation and processing methods.

"We operate a pesticide-free facility to ensure our products are free from toxins that may pose a threat to public health and the environment. Even organic pesticides can have residual presence in cannabinoid and terpene concentrates. Since many organic pesticides are made from essential oils that contain other terpenes, it is nearly impossible to separate cannabinoids and terpenes without contaminating the cannabis-derived terpenes and diluting the specific chemical profile of each strain or cultivar. We are committed to providing patients and caregivers with pesticide-free products in preferred and approved product forms."

Anything Else?

Prime Wellness is a proud community partner! We strongly believe that our success is intertwined with the well-being of the communities in which we operate. Through outreach to local leaders, health providers and organizations, we believe that we are a proactive force for economic stimulus and improving the quality of lives through the legal and ethical use of medical marijuana.

Patients with comments or questions about any “prime” products can connect with the Prime Wellness team by emailing info@primewellnesspa.com.
