Medical Marijuana Class is in Session on Wednesday, June 27th – HIV/PTSD
Interested in learning more about medical marijuana and HIV or PTSD? Now is your chance to do so by joining us at the next Solevo Wellness medical marijuana education event on Wednesday, June 27th. Solevo Wellness is presenting an ongoing series of educational programs so you can learn more about a healthier future. Our second event will focus on HIV and PTSD, and how medical marijuana can be used to provide relief for people affected by these conditions.
This free event will be held from 6pm – 9pm in our Community Room at Solevo Wellness on Wednesday, June 27th. You can visit our events page to get more details and register for an educational and interactive evening at our dispensary.
We are honored to host Dr. Stacy Lane as our guest speaker for this event. Dr. Lane has been helping patients with her own brand of compassion and genuine heart through Central Outreach Wellness Center (COWC) in Pittsburgh.
COWC has been working with at risk communities and reaching folks that weren’t consistently cared for by traditional medical providers . When Dr. Lane decided to take the leap into private practice she knew she wanted to combine compassionate medical care with comprehensive social resources. COWC’s mission is to promote wellness in the community by fostering each patient’s whole self. The focus is on culturally competent and holistic care.
During the June 27th event, Dr. Lane will discuss medical marijuana and HIV. Cannabis can be effective in treating symptoms related to HIV/AIDS. Further, a study published in the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (JAIDS), found that THC may be able to help prevent HIV from becoming AIDS. Patients with HIV in the United States routinely use cannabinoid-based therapies to combat the side effects of HIV infection and antiretroviral therapy.
Dr. Lane will also discuss medical marijuana and PTSD. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a devastating mental condition that can occur after a traumatizing event has made a person fear their life was in immediate danger. PTSD can be the aftermath of a powerful assault on the person’s mind and emotions. Conventional treatments for PTSD may not be effective in some patients, causing many to self-medicate with cannabis (marijuana) to improve their quality of life.
Please consider joining us for this free event and learn more about how medical marijuana can be used to provide relief for people affected by HIV and PTSD on Wednesday, June 27.
