What’s up, Solevo Family?! It’s time for another Meet the Team! This week we’re going to be talking about Solevo Wellness pharmacist, Richard Greer.
No, not the guy from “Pretty Woman”. You’re thinking of Richard Geer. We’re talking about Richard Greer, one of the pharmacists at our Solevo Wellness Squirrel Hill location. When Richard isn’t giving some of the best pharmacy advice on the Forward Avenue block, he’s probably dropping a fire freestyle in the break room for his coworker’s enjoyment.

1. What brought you into this industry?
I have always been fascinated by the potential health benefits of medical marijuana. Even in pharmacy school, where medical marijuana was not covered in great detail. While there, I became especially interested by the medical marijuana programs that were established out west. Many of which have since expanded to include legal adult use. Beyond that, I am excited to have the opportunity to provide groundbreaking advancements in patient care and help pioneer this important progressive medical movement here in my home state. I am also excited to advocate for the rights of patients to receive the best pharmacological treatment right here in Pennsylvania.
2. What excites you most about coming to work every day?
The people! We do indeed have an excellent staff here that I am happy to be a part of and collaborate with. Everyone has unique personalities, backgrounds, and strengths that make for a great team.
3. What has been the most rewarding part of being a Pharmacist at Solevo Wellness?
Primarily, the success stories are always the most inspiring. However, the most rewarding part of my job is seeing a patient progress from the uncertainty of an initial visit to getting relief of their chronic symptoms. Even the small wins are big wins.
4. What is your favorite strain to recommend & what does it help with?
Depending on the diagnosis, symptoms, and individual patient, this question could be answered in a few different ways. Generally, my favorite Indica to talk about with people is Blueberry since it is a pure Indica, being that blueberry is very calming and tends to offer great pain relief without being too sedating. However, Durban Poison is probably my favorite Sativa to recommend since, for most patients, it offers a very clear-headed effect that is unique to marijuana.
5. What do you consider your MMJ Expertise?
Although not a teacher or professor, I do consider myself an educator. My role with Solevo has allowed me to gain a substantial amount of knowledge in a very specialized field of healthcare that I am always excited to share with people. From other healthcare professionals to patients to the general public, it is always nice to be able to answer questions, ease people’s concerns, and help to promote the benefits of medical marijuana through education.
6. In what areas are you hoping to expand your knowledge?
Everything. Since this industry is so new (especially in Pennsylvania) and rapidly changing/developing, our knowledge of marijuana as a medicine will only explode from here. Mainly, I am excited about the continuing research in this industry and all that will be discovered. Furthermore, I am also hopeful that any stigma attached to marijuana will be minimized as the health benefits continued to be revealed.
7. What is one thing you would want someone thinking about trying MMJ to know?
First and foremost, there is nothing to fear. Generally, medical marijuana is a very SAFE option as a medication. At Solevo Wellness, we strive to be very welcoming and want to be with you on this journey. We always want to ensure your safety. I want to add that this industry is driven by the patients, but Solevo is always here to provide guidance. Above all, we are not here to give you a “sales pitch”. Rather, we want to provide you the information for you to make some informed decisions based off of your comfort level with this medicine.
…and there you have it! Richard Greer, a pharmacists dedicated to learning more about Medical Marijuana for you! Show Richard some love, he’s helped so many Solevo patients feel relief!
